# What eBay sold data costs in 2026

Three ways to get eBay sold listings into your product, what each really costs, and worked numbers for 1,000 to 90,000 searches a month.

Short answer

eBay's official sold-data API is free but closed to most new developers, and scraping costs proxies, accounts and constant maintenance. A sold data API is the predictable option: CompSniper is free for 100 requests a month, then $9 for 2,000, $29 for 10,000 or $79 for 50,000. Each request returns up to 240 sales, so that is about $0.02 per 1,000 sales or less, and failed requests are never charged.

01

## Option 1: eBay's official API (free, if you can get in)

eBay's only official source of sold listings is the Marketplace Insights API. It costs nothing, but it is a Limited Release for approved partners and is not open to most new developers. The Browse API only returns active listings, and the old Finding API call `findCompletedItems` has been retired. The cost here is not money: it is the time spent applying, and the risk of building on access you may not get. ## Option 2: scrape it yourself (cheap to start, expensive to keep)

The first version looks free. The ongoing bill is what hurts: since July 2026 eBay asks visitors to sign in before it shows sold results, pages change without notice, blocked requests need rotating infrastructure, and every parser break is an outage for your users. Budget for proxies, accounts and, above all, the engineering hours to keep it alive. For most teams that costs more than a plan within the first month.

03

## Option 3: a sold data API (pay per search)

You pay per search, not per result, so the useful number is the cost per 1,000 sales returned. At up to 240 sales per request:

| Plan | Price | Searches | Per 1,000 searches | Per 1,000 sales |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Free | $0 | 100 | Free | Free |
| Starter | $9 / month | 2,000 | $4.50 | $0.019 |
| Growth | $29 / month | 10,000 | $2.90 | $0.012 |
| Scale | $79 / month | 50,000 | $1.58 | $0.007 |
| 100K | $129 / month | 100,000 | $1.29 | $0.005 |
| 150K | $179 / month | 150,000 | $1.19 | $0.005 |
| 250K | $299 / month | 250,000 | $1.20 | $0.005 |

Every plan includes up to 3 years of sold history, real accepted Best Offer prices, 8 eBay sites and commercial use. Failed requests are free. Annual billing costs 10 months for 12, and extra requests are $5 per 1,000 as credits that never expire. Full table: [pricing](https://compsniper.com/pricing).

Frequently asked questions

## What eBay sold data costs

### How much does eBay sold data cost?

eBay's own sold-data API (Marketplace Insights) is free but limited to approved partners and closed to most new developers. Scraping it yourself costs proxies, accounts and ongoing maintenance. A sold data API like CompSniper is free for 100 requests a month, then $9 for 2,000, $29 for 10,000 or $79 for 50,000 requests, with up to 240 sales per request: about $0.02 per 1,000 sales or less.

### Is there a free eBay sold listings API?

eBay's Marketplace Insights API is free but not open to new users. CompSniper's free plan includes 100 requests a month (up to 24,000 sales), 3 years of sold history and real Best Offer prices, with no credit card.

### Are failed requests charged?

Not on CompSniper. Timeouts, upstream errors and cancelled requests are never charged; only successful responses count, and one request is one search whether it returns 10 sales or 240.

### Is it cheaper to scrape eBay sold listings myself?

Rarely, once you count the full cost. Since July 2026 eBay asks visitors to sign in before it shows sold results, pages change without notice, and blocked requests need rotating infrastructure. Most teams spend more engineering time keeping a scraper alive than the price of a plan.
