How to check eBay sold prices in 2026

To check eBay sold prices, search for the item and turn on the Sold items filter: sold prices appear in green for about the last 90 days. For longer history use Terapeak Product Research in Seller Hub, and for many items at once use a sold-prices search with CSV export or an API.

Four ways to check what something sold for

Every method below shows real completed eBay sales, not asking prices. Choose by how much history you need and how many items you are pricing.

Check sold prices on eBay from a computer

  1. Go to eBay and search for the item as precisely as you can: brand, model, size, storage, edition or year.
  2. In the left sidebar, find Show only and tick Sold items. If you do not see it, open All Filters and look under Show only.
  3. Sold prices now appear in green with the date each item sold. Sort by Ended recently to see the newest sales first.
  4. Use the Condition filter (New, Used, Open box, For parts) so you only compare items like yours.

Ticking Completed items instead of Sold items also shows listings that ended without a buyer. Those are useful to see what did not sell, but they are not sale prices. If you want to build these searches as links, our eBay sold search URL parameters guide explains LH_Sold=1 and the other filters.

Check sold prices in the eBay app

  1. Open the eBay app and search for the item.
  2. Tap Filter at the top of the results.
  3. Switch on Sold items and tap Show results.
  4. Scroll the green sold prices, and tap any listing to check its photos, condition and shipping cost.

The app is the fastest way to check a price while you are standing in a thrift store or at a garage sale. It shows the same roughly 90 days of sales as the website.

Need more than 90 days? Use Terapeak Product Research

eBay's Terapeak Product Research lives in Seller Hub (Seller Hub, then Research). It is free for eBay sellers and shows the average sold price, price range, sell-through rate, total sales and shipping for a search.

In our October 2026 tests, Product Research returned up to about 3 years of sold history. Asking for 4 or 6 years returned the same 3-year window. It also shows accepted Best Offer prices that the public Sold filter hides. The trade-off: it is one search at a time inside eBay, with no API or bulk export. See our Terapeak alternatives comparison if you need that data in a spreadsheet or app.

Check sold prices for many items at once

Checking one item by hand is fine. Checking 50 is an afternoon. CompSniper runs the same Sold items search for you and returns up to 240 recent sales in one go, with the median, middle range and average shipping already worked out.

  1. Create a free account (100 searches a month, no credit card) and open dashboard search.
  2. Enter the item, choose the eBay marketplace (ebay.com, ebay.co.uk, ebay.de and five more), and press Search.
  3. Review the rows, then use Export CSV for Google Sheets or Excel. Our CSV export guide shows each step.

Developers can get the same data as JSON from the eBay sold listings API, one request per item. That is how pricing apps, repricers and inventory spreadsheets check thousands of sold prices a day.

Try the Switch OLED search

A real example: Nintendo Switch OLED

Here is what one sold-prices search for Nintendo Switch OLED on ebay.com returned on October 2, 2026:

Priced sales returned181
Median sold price$180.00
Middle half (25th to 75th percentile)$159.99 to $219.99
Lowest and highest$85.99 and $499.99
Condition mix145 Pre-Owned, 15 Open Box, 14 New
Best Offer accepted markers46

A $499.99 sale and an $85.99 sale are both real, but neither tells you what a normal console sells for. The lower one may be a damaged unit, and the higher one may be a bundle or a special edition. The useful answer is the middle: most Switch OLED consoles sold between about $160 and $220, with a median of $180.

A dated snapshot, not a price guarantee
This sample came from one CompSniper search collected on October 2, 2026. Prices move with new releases, holidays and supply, so check again before you list. A Best Offer marker means the visible price may be higher than what the buyer actually paid.

How to read sold prices so you price correctly

  • Compare like with like. Same model, same storage or size, same condition. Remove lots, parts-only listings, boxes, cases and accessories.
  • Use the median, not the top sale. One great sale does not set the market. The middle half of comparable sales is a safer price range.
  • Add shipping into your thinking. A $40 item with free shipping and a $30 item with $10 shipping cost the buyer the same.
  • Watch crossed-out prices. They usually mean an accepted Best Offer, so the real price was lower.
  • Check the date. Sales from this month matter more than sales from three months ago, especially for electronics and trading cards.

eBay sold prices questions

How do I see sold prices on eBay?

Search for the item on eBay, then turn on the Sold items filter. On a computer it is under Show only in the left sidebar (or in the All Filters panel). In the eBay app, tap Filter and switch on Sold items. Sold prices are shown in green.

How far back can I see eBay sold prices?

The public Sold filter shows roughly the last 90 days. eBay's Terapeak Product Research in Seller Hub goes further back; in our October 2026 tests it returned up to about 3 years of sold history.

Is checking eBay sold prices free?

Yes. The Sold filter is free for anyone, and Terapeak Product Research is free for eBay sellers. Paid tools add speed and scale, such as many items at once, exports, and API access. CompSniper starts with 100 free requests a month.

What is the difference between sold and completed listings on eBay?

Completed listings include every listing that ended, whether it sold or not. Sold listings are only the ones that ended with a sale. For pricing, use Sold items, because an unsold listing only shows what a seller hoped to get.

Why is the sold price sometimes crossed out?

When a Best Offer is accepted, eBay often shows the original listing price crossed out because the real accepted amount is hidden. The buyer usually paid less than the number you can see, so treat those sales as an upper bound.

How do I check sold prices for many items at once?

eBay's filter and Terapeak work one item at a time. To price a list of items, use a sold-listings search tool with CSV export or a sold listings API, which returns up to 240 recent sales per request as JSON.
