Where real Pokemon card sold prices live
Price guides and listing pages show what people want for a card. Sold prices show what buyers actually paid. These are the sources that record real completed sales:
| Source | Covers | Strength | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| eBay sold listings | Raw and graded singles, sealed product, lots | Every condition and grade, auctions and Buy It Now | Lots and fakes mixed into searches |
| TCGplayer sales history | Raw singles and sealed product | Condition, printing and language on every sale | Signed-out visitors see only the last 5 sales |
| Market price guides | A single quick number | Fast | An average, so it hides the spread and the condition |
Step 1: match the exact card
Most pricing mistakes happen before you look at a single price. The same Pokemon can have dozens of versions, and they sell for very different amounts. Write down:
- Card number and set, from the bottom of the card, for example
223/197from Obsidian Flames. - Printing: regular, holo, reverse holo, full art, special illustration, promo.
- Language: English and Japanese copies are separate markets.
- Condition or grade: Near Mint, Lightly Played, or the grade from PSA, BGS or CGC.
A name-only search can land on the wrong card. When we searched "Umbreon VMAX 215/203", the best text match was a different printing, a Prize Pack Umbreon VMAX 095/203, with its own prices. Always check the number on the result against your card.
A real example: Charizard ex 223/197
Here is what the Obsidian Flames Charizard ex 223/197 actually sold for, collected on October 10, 2026:
| Where and which copies | Sales used | Median sold price | Middle half |
|---|---|---|---|
| eBay, raw (no grading company) | 214 sales | $91.50 | $81.25 to $100.00 |
| TCGplayer, Near Mint | 70 of the latest 100 sales | $97.84 | $85.99 to $121.80 (full range) |
| eBay, PSA 10 | 132 sales | $767.61 | $700.75 to $799.99 |
Three things stand out. Raw copies sell for about $90 to $100, and eBay and TCGplayer agree within about 7%. A PSA 10 sells for about 8 times the raw price. And TCGplayer has recorded 702 sales of this one card: 28 Near Mint copies sold in the week of October 13, 2025, and 10 in the first days of October 2026, so the price is well established. Its TCGplayer market price was $90.36 a year ago and $97.84 now.
Raw vs PSA 10: price them separately
A graded card and a raw card are different products. Mixing them in one search is the fastest way to a wrong price: in the Charizard example, one PSA 10 sale in a raw search would pull the average up by more than $3.
- For graded cards, put the grade in the search:
charizard ex 223/197 psa 10. - For raw cards, exclude graded copies and lots:
charizard ex 223/197 -psa -bgs -cgc -graded -lot. - Deciding whether to grade? Compare the PSA 10 median with the raw median, then subtract grading fees, shipping and the real chance your copy gets a 10.

Check Pokemon card sold prices on eBay
- Search the card name, number and set on eBay.
- Turn on Sold items (Show only, on desktop; Filter, in the app). Sold prices show in green.
- Open a few listings to confirm the number, printing and condition in the photos.
- Ignore lots, proxies, "custom" cards and listings with the wrong number, then read the median.
eBay's filter shows about 90 days. For a slower card, see how to see eBay sold prices older than 90 days; eBay's research data goes back up to 3 years.
Check TCGplayer sales history
Every TCGplayer product page has a sales history with the date, condition, printing, language, quantity and price of each sale. Signed-out visitors see only the last 5 sales; signed in, you see the full history. TCGplayer also shows a market price and a price chart for each printing and condition.
Because every sale carries its condition, TCGplayer is the cleanest source for raw singles. It covers graded cards and vintage less well than eBay, so many sellers check both.
Price a whole Pokemon collection at once
Checking one card by hand is easy. Checking a binder of 300 is not. CompSniper runs the searches for you:
- Dashboard search: up to 240 eBay sold prices per card, with the median and middle range worked out, and CSV export.
- Card batch: send a list of cards and get eBay sold prices for all of them in one job.
- TCGplayer endpoint: full TCGplayer sales history and market price history by card name or product ID, as JSON.
All three use one account and one API key, with 100 free searches a month to start.
Pokemon card price questions
How do I find out how much my Pokemon card is worth?
Look up what the same card recently sold for. Match the exact card number and set (for example 223/197 from Obsidian Flames), the printing (holo, reverse holo), the language and the condition or grade, then take the median of the last 20 to 30 comparable sales on eBay or TCGplayer.
Where can I see Pokemon card sold prices?
On eBay, search the card and turn on the Sold items filter (about the last 90 days). On TCGplayer, open the product page and check its sales history; signed-in accounts see the full history, signed-out visitors see only the last 5 sales. Both show real completed sales, not asking prices.
How much more is a PSA 10 worth than a raw card?
It depends on the card. For Charizard ex 223/197 in October 2026, PSA 10 copies sold for a median of $767.61 on eBay, about 8 times the $91.50 median of raw copies. Grading pays off for modern cards that are in high demand and likely to get a 10.
Are TCGplayer prices or eBay prices more accurate?
Both are real sales. TCGplayer records the condition and printing on every sale, which makes raw singles easy to compare. eBay covers graded cards, vintage and sealed product better and has more sales overall. For our Charizard ex example the two raw medians were within about 7% of each other.
Why do sold prices for the same card vary so much?
Condition, printing, language, grading and shipping all change the price, and a keyword search can also catch lots, fakes and different cards with the same name. Compare like with like and read the middle of the range, not the highest sale.
How can I price a whole Pokemon collection at once?
Use a tool that searches many cards for you. CompSniper's card batch endpoint prices a list of cards from eBay sold data in one job, and its TCGplayer endpoint returns full TCGplayer sales history by card name or product ID, both as JSON or CSV.
