How to see eBay sold prices older than 90 days

eBay's Sold items filter only shows about the last 90 days. To see older sold prices, use Terapeak Product Research in Seller Hub, which goes back up to 3 years, or pull the same 3-year history by API with CompSniper's /v1/research/sold.

Why eBay only shows 90 days of sold items

The public Sold items filter, on the website and in the app, is built for current prices. Sales older than about 90 days drop out of it. They are not gone: eBay keeps them in its seller research data, where they stay searchable for up to 3 years.

We tested the ceiling in October 2026. Asking eBay's research tool for 4 years or 6 years of sales returned exactly the same 3-year window, and its own date picker stops at 3 years. So 3 years is the real limit, for every tool that uses eBay's data.

See up to 3 years in Terapeak, step by step

  1. Sign in to eBay and open Seller Hub, then Research. A normal eBay account works; you do not need an eBay Store.
  2. Choose the Sold tab and search for the item as precisely as you can.
  3. Open the date selector and pick Last 3 years, or a custom range anywhere inside the last 3 years.
  4. Read the average sold price, total sales and the listing rows. Ignore the "switched to Active listings" note eBay shows at the top; it appears even when sold results exist.

Terapeak is excellent for one item. It has no public API or bulk export, so pricing a whole inventory this way takes hours. Our Terapeak alternatives comparison covers the options.

A real 3-year trend: Nintendo Switch OLED

Here is what 3 years of eBay sold history shows for a Nintendo Switch OLED console on ebay.com. Each row is the median price of single-console sales in that quarter, collected on October 10, 2026:

QuarterSales usedMedian sold priceMiddle half
Oct to Dec 202316$265.00$201 to $295
Jan to Mar 202420$249.99$216 to $324
Apr to Jun 202424$223.96$209 to $243
Jul to Sep 202424$240.00$206 to $259
Oct to Dec 202418$257.99$236 to $274
Jan to Mar 202526$226.43$197 to $257
Apr to Jun 202537$195.00$177 to $245
Jul to Sep 202534$162.49$150 to $190
Oct to Dec 202525$225.00$165 to $273
Jan to Mar 202625$189.99$150 to $210
Apr to Jun 202639$186.00$167 to $209
Jul to Sep 202621$170.00$155 to $200
Oct 1 to 10, 202625$184.00$176 to $199

The story is clear once you have the full window: a used Switch OLED sold for about $250 to $265 through 2024, fell to $162 by mid-2025, and has held around $170 to $190 in 2026. The 90-day view would only show you the last row. It could not tell you that today's price is about 30% below where it was two years ago, or that the late-2025 jump to $225 was a holiday-season bump, not a recovery.

How we built this table
705 single-unit sales came back for the keyword across the 3 years. We kept 334: titles that name the OLED console (or a console bundle), at $60 or more, and dropped cases, docks, controllers, parts and repairs. Quarters use up to the 100 newest sales in each period, so they are samples, not a census. Prices are in USD. This is a dated snapshot for illustration, not a price guarantee.

Get 3 years of eBay sold history by API

The table above came from one endpoint, GET /v1/research/sold. It searches the same 3-year eBay sold data by keyword, on all eight eBay sites, and it is on every CompSniper plan, including the free one.

curl -H "Authorization: Bearer cs_live_YOUR_KEY" \
  "https://api.compsniper.com/v1/research/sold?keyword=nintendo+switch+oled&startDate=2023-10-11&endDate=2026-10-10&sort=lastSoldDescending&singleUnitOnly=true"
  • Any date range inside the last 3 years, with startDate and endDate.
  • Up to 50 rows per page, up to 200 pages. Each page is one request; failed requests are free.
  • Newest first or by units sold, and singleUnitOnly=true for one-off sales.
  • Listing-level rows: units sold, average and total price, average shipping and last sale date. Prices come back in USD.

For recent sales with full listing details (condition, seller, Best Offer markers) and automatic cleanup of accessories and lots, use the regular eBay sold listings API. Most apps use both: the last 90 days for today's price, 3 years for the trend.

How to read old sold prices correctly

  • Compare periods, not single sales. A quarter's median is far more reliable than any one sale from two years ago.
  • Filter out accessories. Old searches match cases, parts and empty boxes just like new ones. Check titles before you average.
  • Watch release dates and holidays. New models, reprints and the holiday season move prices for a few months at a time.
  • Mind the currency. eBay's research data reports prices in USD, even for the UK, German or Australian sites.
  • Price on recent sales. Use the 3-year trend to decide whether to hold or sell, and the last 30 to 90 days to set the actual price.

eBay sold history questions

How far back can you see sold items on eBay?

The public Sold items filter shows roughly the last 90 days. eBay's Terapeak Product Research, inside Seller Hub, goes back up to 3 years. In our October 2026 tests, asking for 4 or 6 years returned the same 3-year window, so 3 years is the real limit.

Can I see eBay sold prices older than 90 days?

Yes. Open Seller Hub, go to Research, choose the Sold tab, search for the item and set the date range to up to 3 years. To get the same history in a spreadsheet or app, CompSniper's /v1/research/sold endpoint returns up to 3 years of eBay sold history by keyword.

Is Terapeak free?

Terapeak Product Research is free for eBay sellers and works with a regular eBay account; a Store subscription is not required. It is a manual tool: one search at a time, with no public API or bulk export.

Does eBay delete old sold listings?

Sold listings drop out of the public Sold filter after about 90 days, but the sales still exist in eBay's research data for up to 3 years. Older listing pages can lose their title, photos or link, so some old rows show only the price and date.

Is there an API for eBay sales history?

eBay's own sold-history API (Marketplace Insights) is limited to approved partners and about 90 days. CompSniper's /v1/research/sold returns up to 3 years of eBay sold history on all eight eBay sites, on every plan including free, using one request per page of up to 50 rows.

Why are some old prices so low?

A keyword search also matches accessories, parts and lots. Filter titles to the item itself, use single-unit sales, and read the median of each period rather than the lowest or highest sale.

Written by CompSniper's founder. The Switch OLED trend is CompSniper's own research, collected October 10, 2026, not customer data. Terapeak steps checked October 2026.
